Finally

One of my organizations, UP SaLin, held one of its major events the other day, Dilang Linggwist. Dilang Linggwist is a highschool invitational, dedicated to showing students what the BA degree, or rather, in general, what Linguistics, is all about. Especially the Linguistics here in the Philippines. It also features a special topic, which was for this year, Tagalog, Taglish and Filipino - in an educational, linguistic and political perspective. It was the first event I pulled of as a member of the Academics Committe of UP SaLin and I must say, I am quite proud.
There are two variations to the outfit I wore for Dilang Lingg and I'll tell you why.

This was the first version, with the shoes in the picture above this one.
collared floral printed blouse | black felt skirt | black stockings | black wedges

The second version. My shoes broke! Thank goodness my friend Tel had shoes to spare. What do you think about the sandals with stockings though? A little bit off or is it okay?

Took random photos while waiting for another member to arrive.

To follow are some photos from the event

The tokens we gave to our speakers were from Cafe de Lipa. Kapeng Barako at irs finest.

UP SaLin's applicants. They did a lot to help that day.

I am so glad at least this many people came. Ah, my heart swells with pride.

Certificates.

Fin Comm. Or as they call themselves, the AWESOME Fin Comm. Minus one.

One of our speakers and this year's adivser for the org, Sir Jay-ar Igno.

Sir Christopher Dofitas talking about phonetics, phonology and morphology.

One of my favorite professors, Sir Louward Zubiri.

Aww. I missed Doc M's talk. I was downstairs waiting for the food to come. Yep, I was in charge of food for the event.

Sir Jem Javier. He was quite the celebrity that day. Seems the students developed a bit of a crush on him. WHY.

Q&A for the special topic.

Acad Comm Head Kenneth giving the closing remarks. He's probably less stressed now that the event is finished. Same here.

Yeay SaLin.

Yeay Acad Comm.

Fin Comm girls strike a pose.

Job well done.

Til next year!

Florals, Florals, and Florals

I suppose it's very evident that I am fond of floral prints. My schoolmates have said that whenever they think of anything floral, they think of me, and vice versa. Not really quite sure what to make of that. Hohoho.

Taking pictures in my college's hallway is just a tad bit embarrassing, even I get embarrassed.

As you all can see, my love of floral print reached an all time high that day. It was my second day of shooting with Martin del Rosario, (yup the actor, he studies in UP). Just some backstory, my friends are joining this J-Mv competition that I joined last year. Amazingly, we won. Credits to out director and cameraman Plocky, who is (funny enough) from Ateneo. Long story short, since I had Celty, I volunteered to be Camera Girl. And met Martin in the process. Awesome. (See how hd our photo is. XD)

Look! It's a bag I got from, well rather, bought, from Pam. Teehee. Told you I love florals.

The music video will be released this coming Wednesday. I'll be sure to upload it once I get a copy. :))

Frills and Planks

Today was the Talent's Night for one of my organization's (UP SaLin) applicants. I think they picked a nice theme (Alice in Wonderland) though their talents were mostly Korean inspired. Hoho. Well, what with the times and all I can't blame them. Personally I've always been fascinated by Alice in Wonderland. I've read the books and watched the movies, and Alice never disappoints. When I was applying for said org, I even dressed up as Alice! Too bad I don't have a picture.

Anyway, they asked us members to come in Tea Party attire. Not so sure if my clothes were very tea party-ish, but with what I had in my closet this was the best I could do. Teehee. When I hear tea party I think of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.

But frills could work.
At least, that's what I settled with.

I love how my look went with the backdrop. It's..well, apparently it's an abandoned house or something. I think Reese did a photoshoot here before? I don't know, the scenery looked familiar.
